FAQ's
Q. What kind of therapy do you provide?
I use a combination of cognitive discussion, coaching and counselling, hypnosis, chakra balancing and crystal healing.
Q. What exactly is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a distinct type of therapy used in the treatment of emotional, physical and psychological disorders, unwanted habits and negative thinking. It stands out from other forms of therapies because it addresses the individual's subconscious mind, creating meaningful alternatives to the current way of thinking, feeling or behaving.
Q. Does hypnotherapy work?
88% to 90% of all our behaviours, thoughts and emotions are driven from the subconscious mind. Therefore in order to re-set some of the less helpful responses we need to work at the same level as the subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy allows us to do this by taking people into a relaxed hypnotic trance. It is during this altered state of consciousness that we can then make powerful suggestions and use hypnotic language, metaphor and story to form new neural pathways in the brain, changing how we think, feel and behave.

Q. Are there any dangers?
NONE. You will be safe at all times and in a secure environment, you will be simply relaxed and comfortable.
Q. What is hypnosis exactly?
-
A state of deep relaxation in the mind and physical body
-
A trance state that allows the subconscious mind to be receptive to positive suggestions
-
A way of gaining access to your imagination and subconscious mind
-
A state of mind where you always remain in control
When we have a narrowed focus of attention, we all drift into a trance like state. This may be when reading a book, listening to music, being locked in conversation or simply day dreaming. Hypnosis is just like this, except as the therapist I guide you into a deep state of relaxation using images and hypnotic language to allow your conscious mind to switch off and your subconscious mind to be receptive to powerful and supportive suggestions.
Q. What can hypnotherapy be used for?
Hypnotherapy can be used on virtually everything. Hypnotherapy not only addresses the present problem, but enables one to tap into their inner resources to effect change. The list of areas that hypnotherapy can be used for is varied, but includes: stress, anxiety, panic, phobias, unwanted habits and addictions (e.g. smoking, overeating, alcoholism), disrupted sleep patterns, lack of confidence and low self-esteem, fear of examinations and public speaking, allergies and skin disorders, migraine and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Additionally, it has proved successful in the area of pain management and in the areas of both sporting and artistic performance enhancement.
Q.Will I lose control during hypnosis?
Whilst you are in a very deep altered state of consciousness, you always remain in control. Your body has its own in built survival system that never allows you to lose control. Even in a deep trance you can still talk, move and walk.
Q. Is hypnotherapy suitable for everyone?
Hypnotherapy is suitable for women and men of all ages. However, for people who are on pyschiatric medication, hypnotherapy is not advisable.
Q. How many sessions of therapy will I require and how long do sessions take?
This is entirely dependent on the area we are working on, how long you have had the problem and what you goals are. I will always be honest and open about the number of sessions needed once I have had an opportunity to speak to you first and establish what the issue is. Usually, clients start to see great results within 2-3 sessions. However, to get the full impact of hypnotherapy and experience life-changing transformation, it usually takes between 7-8 sessions. A typical session takes usually between 2 - 2.5 hours.
Q. What can I expect from a typical hypnotherapy session?
I will always have a cognitive discussion with you first to understand what you need help and support with. I will try and understand what are the patterns and underlying root causes of the issues and through positive suggestions and affirmations, we will then go about releasing negative energies and blockages resulting in the problem. We will also start with changing your belief systems/ overcoming negative emotions. In addition to the sessions, I prescribe out-of-session work such as listening to certain audios, meditation techniques, reading certain literature and watching related videos etc. Dependant on the situation, some issues are resolved after 2-3 session, others may take further sessions.
